Participants will gain a solid understanding of database concepts within a cloud environment, receive introductory training in cloud data services, and develop their foundational knowledge of cloud data services in Microsoft Azure. The curriculum covers core data concepts, including relational, non relational, big data, and analytics, and provides insights into how this technology is implemented in Microsoft Azure. The course will also cover various roles, and responsibilities in the data industry.
The program will explore relational data offerings, including the provisioning and deployment of relational databases, and querying relational data using cloud data solutions in Microsoft Azure. Non-relational data offerings will also be examined, including the provisioning and deployment of non-relational databases and non-relational data stores using Microsoft Azure.
The course will provide an overview of the available processing options for building data analytics solutions in Azure, including Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, and Azure HDInsight. Additionally, participants will learn about Power BI, its building blocks, and how they work together.

Prerequisite certification is not required before taking this course. Successful Azure Data Fundamentals students start with some basic awareness of computing and Internet concepts, and an interest in extracting insights from data.
Specifically:
- Experience using a web browser, such as Microsoft Edge.
- Familiarity with basic data-related concepts, such as working with tables of data in a spreadsheet and visualizing data using charts.
- A willingness to learn through hands-on exploration.
